Ernest Delune

1859 — 1945
The son of an entrepreneur, Delune was one of the first of a large family of architects. This included his brothers and sons, who would all dedicate themselves to the same art. Indeed, historians sometimes have difficulties in telling their work apart. The fact that he was a municipal councillor in Ixelles explains why the majority of his creations are located in this district, in the Ponds neighbourhood. However, his style oscillates between Eclecticism, Art Nouveau and even, at a later date, Art Deco (as seen in a building located in the Avenue Eudore Pirmez 29).
