Léon Delune

1862 — 1947
Léon Delune belonged to a large Brabant family who came to settle in Brussels. His father, Hubert, was a building contractor. Léon enrolled at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1885 and also studied sculpture at the School of Decorative Arts. Still influenced by the eclectic style, he drew up plans for the family home, which his father built at No. 3 Avenue des Éperons d'Or in 1890-91. His brothers Ernest, Edmond and Aimable also became architects. A surveyor and architect, Léon was employed at the Ministry of Agriculture before becoming a teacher himself.
