Paul Saintenoy
The descendant of a family of famous architects (Gustave Saintenoy and Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar), Saintenoy completed his training with Victor Horta and Paul Hankar. He is known not only for his work but also for the impressive intellectual contribution he made to the artistic circles of the time. An active member of the Royal Society of Archaeology in Brussels, he also became Professor of Architectural History at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. His own house is exceptional, displaying a blend of Art Nouveau and original elements inspired by different eras. His style would gradually evolve and become more modern, in particular through the construction of the extremely attractive Gare du Nord and its tower (1952-1956).
